There are people we leave behind
But do we leave them behind
Or do we find some new judgement
As an excuse to make ourselves
Feel better about choices once made
A quilt over our eyes
To show ourselves that we have grown
So we move away from the
Pariahs the outcasts the perverts
That we once knew
But now with the wool over our eyes
We smile
Saying we do not see those demons anymore
We see only the holiness of our own breath
Look how far we have come
We have come so far
Who else is here
Nobody I see
This is a strong indication of my growth
The path forward is a lonely one
But is it truly the evolved that leave others behind
Is it the truly evolved who judge from behind
A curtain of safety and a curtain of distance
We are the worst ones here
We are in denial
And how dare we pretend not to judge others
We are always judging and now we are cowards as well
